Oklahoma Opportunities members use their talents and energy to help nonprofits, school districts, government agencies and other organizations. They tap into their service-oriented spirits to tackle some of the most pressing challenges facing Oklahomans. The program offers members the chance to gain professional experience, learn leadership skills and connect with like-minded individuals. Becoming an Oklahoma Opportunities member through Red River Community Corps (RRCC) is a rewarding way to serve and grow.
Who Can Apply?
Anyone age 17 or older who has a high school diploma (or equivalency) and is a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident is eligible to apply. Oklahoma Opportunities members use their talents and energy to help nonprofits, school districts, government agencies, and other organizations tackle meaningful community challenges.
Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you start your journey:
Step 1: Apply
Start your application here. Scroll to the bottom of the page, complete the form and upload your resume. This step gets your journey as an Oklahoma Opportunities member underway.
Step 2: RRCC Connects You with Open Positions
Once your application is submitted, RRCC will match you with open AmeriCorps positions in your area. You can apply to positions that interest you and interview with host sites in your community. Be sure to provide your availability during interviews, as agency schedules may vary.
Step 3: AmeriCorps Determines Eligibility
RRCC will guide you through the AmeriCorps eligibility process. Please note that you may need to complete multiple background checks before starting your service.
Step 4: Onboarding, Orientation and Training
After being accepted into the program, you’ll attend orientation, where you’ll receive program materials, service gear and initial training. During your service, your host site agency will provide ongoing training to help you make a meaningful impact and develop critical skills for community service.
