How to Become a Red River Community Corps Partner

A step-by-step guide to the application and onboarding process for Red River Community Corps partners.

Red River Community Corps (RRCC) partner agencies receive essential funding and support to create innovative programs and expand capacity and services to strengthen their communities.

Our partner agencies value helping their neighbors and making the world a better place through community service. They also play a pivotal role in providing opportunities and experiences for our members in their service journeys.

Follow this step-by-step guide to begin your journey as a Red River Community Corps partner:

Step 1: Determine Eligibility

School districts, nonprofits, Native American tribes, state or government agencies and religious organizations are eligible to become RRCC partners. See some of the partners we’ve worked with on the RRCC Partners webpage

Step 2: Identify a Capacity Building Need

RRCC aims to increase the capacity of partner programs by 10% or support the creation of new programs. Capacity building looks different for every partner site, but activities must include at least one of the following:

  • Support or enhance the program delivery model

  • Increase, expand and or enhance services to address pressing community needs

  • Provide a sustained level of increased or improved direct services after an RRCC member’s term has ended

If you’ve identified a capacity building need, ensure you can design activities to address the need and how members will support it.

Step 3: Determine Your Organization’s Fit for Funding

Partner agencies are responsible for offering a cash-match to support program administration and member living allowances. They must also be able to provide office space and work supervision to RRCC members who serve for them.

Step 4: Apply to Become a Partner

The application involves a letter of intent (LOI) describing your organization and how RRCC can support you in addition to information related to all the steps above. You will also need to provide two letters of support from other community organizations in addition to financial and policy information for your organization.

Step 5: RRCC and AmeriCorps Reviews Application

Host sites are selected based on criteria based on alignment of member services, ability of the host site to measure performance and support members. Learn more here.

Step 6: Members Assigned & Service Begins

Once accepted, each partner site will recruit members and/or RRCC will assist with matching appropriate members to the site. Finally, the service program begins! You can now engage in your capacity building projects with the support of RRCC members and make a lasting impact in your community together.

Becoming a Red River Community Corps partner is an excellent opportunity to receive support in expanding your organization’s services to create positive change in Oklahoma.
