Working towards a stronger, healthier Oklahoma

In Fall 2019, Red River Community Corps will launch a new AmeriCorps State Program, Healthy Futures Oklahoma. The Healthy Futures Oklahoma Program will place AmeriCorps members in communities across the State of Oklahoma who will support a variety of nutrition education and physical activity initiatives. The goal of the Healthy Futures Oklahoma AmeriCorps Program is to provide opportunities that give participants greater control over their health choices and move healthy intentions into action.

Healthy Futures Oklahoma aims to place 45 AmeriCorps members at non-profit organizations who will deliver nutrition education classes, support enrollment in food assistance programs, assist in food delivery at food pantries & farmers markets, support community garden programs, and implement physical activity programs in communities across Oklahoma.

Applications for organizations to host AmeriCorps members though the Healthy Futures Oklahoma program will be available in Spring 2019. Host site agencies receive training and support to help make sure they are able to make the most their AmeriCorps partnership.

Healthy Futures Oklahoma Host Site Applications Re-Opened

Applications for organizations looking to partner with Red River as a Healthy Futures Oklahoma Host Site are now open! Sites my apply to host Nutrition Education Coordinators who will coordinate and deliver hands-on nutrition education. Applications in this round are due September 6th at 5:00 pm CT.
